The Tengri Innovation Award seeks to discover and champion emerging designers. We’re looking for students, recent graduates and recently qualified tailoring professionals who are pioneering innovative and unique ways of working with textiles – demonstrating a reworking of traditional techniques in a contemporary way.

This award is intended to enable students, recent graduates and newly qualified tailoring professionals to continue to innovate while working within the industry, with an internship at Tengri, commissioned brief and yarns sponsorship.

Application for this award is open to students in the final two years of their course; graduates who have been awarded their degree within the last nine months, and tailoring professionals who achieved their qualification within the last 12 months. Entrants will be exploring an innovative approach to textiles and wish to continue pursuing developments.

Candidates who are successfully shortlisted will be required to be available for interviews with the judging panel (via Skype) between 16-18 December 2019.

Award prize: £1000

The prize is a yarns or fabrics sponsorship award to the value of £500, plus a £500 cash prize and a 6 month paid internship at Tengri. Winners will be expected to display their innovation in a Tengri showcase.
